Back discomfort can make it harder to stay active and continue participating in the activities that matter to you. You might worry that moving more or moving the wrong way will make your symptoms worse.
This five-week series is designed to help you move with greater comfort and confidence. Classes include joint-friendly yoga and mobility drills, breathing practices, relaxation, simple meditations, and brief educational topics. We'll also explore how stress and daily habits can affect how our backs feel. By the end of the series, you'll have practical, personalized strategies you can continue using at home and in everyday life.
Enrollment for small-group yoga therapy is limited to eight participants, allowing for individualized guidance and adaptation. Before the series begins, I’ll send you a written intake to complete (about 20–30 minutes), and we’ll have a brief call. What you choose to share about your goals, relevant health history, and concerns will help me individualize the series for you and the group.
For even more individualized support, one-on-one yoga therapy sessions are also available.

If you’re unsure whether the series is appropriate for you, please feel free to contact me before registering. After registering, you’ll also complete an intake and have a brief individual call with me before the series begins.

Not at all. No previous yoga experience is necessary. Movement will be beginner-friendly, joint-friendly, and adaptable.
-
In this series, we’ll use chairs, stand, and get on the floor, but transitions up and down from the floor will be limited and unhurried. If you prefer to avoid floor work completely, please consider my Chair-Supported series or one-to-one yoga therapy.
-
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily. No gear needed, though you might like a water bottle. You're welcome to practice barefoot or in supportive footwear, but stocking feet are too slippery.
-
No. This small group yoga therapy series can complement—not replace—medical care, physical therapy, or other treatments you may be receiving. You can read more about yoga therapy that page of this website.

Unlike regular group classes, I limit the size of small group yoga therapy classes to allow for greater individualization. If you’d like support tailored more specifically to your goals, health concerns, and circumstances, I also offer one-on-one yoga therapy. You can read more about yoga therapy on my Yoga Therapy page or schedule a free call to discuss what it is and whether it might be a good fit.
